    In a nutshell, the Fun Run is about muddy goodness and a day full of belly laughs! No judgment, just good times. It's about the journey, not the finish line! The fun run waves are all about camaraderie, having fun and experiencing the thrill of overcoming new challenges.

    We have multiple fun run waves kicking off throughout the day. You will choose your allocated wave time when purchasing your ticket.

    Make sure to book the same wave time as your mates if you’re going with a group. Also, for groups over 10 people, remember to take advantage of the discounted group tickets available!

  • • For solo entrants wanting to test themselves and have a shot at the big cash prize!

    • Prize money, medals, trophies, and of course bragging rights up for grabs

    • Anyone can have a crack!

    • Must be aged 13+

  • • For ages 8 and up

    • A shortened version of the adults course

    • Kids under 13yrs must run with an accompanying adult (1 adult with up to 4 juniors)

    • Any adults running in the Junior wave should also purchase a Junior ticket

    • Adults with tickets for any other waves are permitted to also run in the Junior wave for free

    • Age-appropriate obstacles carefully designed to minimise risks

    • Professional and certified safety staff are present along the entire course

  • • Comfy clothes to run in + closed running shoes (or dress-up costume)

  • Come at 8:30am or at least 45 minutes before your wave time. (You will choose your wave time when reserving your tickets)

    We’ll check you in and give you your official Rugged Race Participant Headband when you arrive. Hang out in the chill area until your wave time, and then come on up to the start line! We’ll call out when it’s your turn.

  • Over 45 muddy obstacles! (Less for the Juniors)

    The course can take anywhere between 30 minutes and 2.5 hours depending on how fast you go.

    All Obstacles are Optional!

    HOWEVER - If you are in the competitive wave, you will have to face the penalties for not completing an obstacle (20 push-ups for example)

  • Grab your towel and change of clothes, freshen up in out onsite showers, and then come celebrate your achievements! Enjoy the chill out area once you’ve rinsed off, enjoy the food trucks, bar and music while watching all the later waves cross the finish line.

Build a team larger than 8 people to receive a 10% discount.

FAQs

Do I have to be fit to enter?

Absolutely not!
Although we have elite waves for athletes wanting to compete for the Rugged Race Title and for the prize money, most of the day will be taken up by our social waves which are suitable for everyone, all fitness levels, all ages.

Will there be a race for the kids?

Yes!
There will be races for juniors aged from 8 - 12 years ! Approx 4km of fun, mud + good times. All Juniors MUST run with an adult in the JNR wave (1 adult with up to 4 juniors) Accompanying adults are required to purchase a JNR ticket.

Are there lockers available?

Yes, there will be lockers available for you to store your belongings whilst completing the course.

Where is it?

The Rugged Race is held at Redbanks in Nugent, Tasmania: 276 Masons Rd, Nugent TAS 7172

What time does it start?

We always kick off from around 8:30am, but the actual wave times are to be announced closer to the date.

Do I need to bring water?

There will be a water point halfway through the course but bringing your own water is also a good idea.

What do I need to bring?

• Towel
• Water
• Change of clean clothes (and shoes)
• Comfy clothes to race in and closed running shoes, dress-ups encouraged!
• Plus of course, your Rugged Race eTicket, either printed or on your device.

Are there showers available after the race?

Yep!
Once you’ve crossed the finish line there will be onsite showers available for you to freshen up in.

Can I purchase food at the event?

Yes, we will have food and beverages (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) available for purchase from our onsite food trucks and bar.

How long is the obstacle course?

6kms for the adults and 4kms for the juniors

Will there be prizes?

What’s a good race without a prize?
The 1/2/3rd placings in our elite male + female waves will take home trophies and prizes.

Can I receive a refund if I can’t attend?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any refunds for purchased tickets. However you are more than welcome to sell your ticket onwards and we are happy to change the name on your tickets free of charge.
